The Mullica Township, New Jersey community is mourning the tragic loss of 19-year-old Javonte Stallworth, whose death has left family, friends, and loved ones heartbroken as authorities continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, police responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Route 30 and Snow Hill Road shortly before midnight on Friday, July 24. When officers arrived, they found Stallworth inside the vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say witnesses reported seeing two individuals fleeing the crash site on foot before police arrived. Two juvenile passengers who were in the vehicle at the time were later located and taken in for questioning.
Following the investigation, authorities charged a 15-year-old Mullica Township resident in connection with Stallworth’s death. The juvenile faces multiple charges, including aggravated manslaughter and weapons-related offenses, and has been remanded to a juvenile detention facility pending further legal proceedings.
The motive and full circumstances surrounding the shooting have not yet been fully disclosed as the investigation remains ongoing.
