The Wolcottville, Indiana community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Kaden Henry Lynn Wiese, an 18-year-old student whose life was tragically cut short following a single-vehicle accident on July 23, 2026.
According to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded around 7 p.m. to the 2500 block of West 700 South near Topeka after receiving reports of a crash. Investigators said Kaden was driving a truck eastbound when the vehicle lost control, left the roadway, and struck a fence. Despite emergency response efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. An 18-year-old passenger in the vehicle was not injured.
Authorities indicated that speed is believed to have been a contributing factor in the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Born on March 15, 2008, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Kaden was the son of Scott and Laura (Hart) Wiese. He was a student at Lakeland High School and was preparing to begin his senior year. He was also enrolled at the Impact Institute, where he was pursuing welding, reflecting his strong work ethic and determination to build a future.
Outside the classroom, Kaden was known for his love of the outdoors and his dedication to hard work. He worked as a landscaper with Curb Appeal, where he was appreciated for his reliability and commitment. He found joy in fishing, hunting, and spending time in nature.
During his time in school, Kaden participated in wrestling and football, forming lasting friendships with teammates, coaches, and classmates. He is remembered as a kind-hearted young man with a positive attitude and a genuine appreciation for life’s simple moments.
He is survived by his parents, siblings, extended family, and close friends who will continue to cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by several grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home in Wolcottville, with funeral services to follow on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
