Family, friends, and members of the Virginia motorcycle community are mourning the tragic loss of Jennifer Hollingsworth, 39, of Fredericksburg, who died following a motorcycle crash in Fairfax Station on the evening of July 23.
According to the Fairfax County Police Department, officers responded at approximately 7:13 p.m. to the intersection of Ox Road and Chapel Road after receiving reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV.
Preliminary findings from the Crash Reconstruction Unit indicate that Jennifer was riding a Suzuki GSX-R750 northbound on Ox Road when it collided with a Buick Enclave that was making a left turn from southbound Ox Road onto eastbound Chapel Road.
Emergency personnel arrived quickly at the scene, but Jennifer sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the location. The driver of the SUV was not injured and remained at the scene, cooperating fully with investigators.
Authorities have stated that alcohol is not believed to have been a factor for the SUV driver. Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including whether speed or other factors may have contributed. The investigation remains ongoing.
